FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get the same results using a mobile detailer?

Detailing for a purpose such as preparing a car for sale requires extensive equipment such as 15amp steamers, compressors and a raft of tools most mobile operations simply can't take with them to every job. Often we find little challenges that call on additional tooling, expertise and in some instances extra hands. A mobile detailer whilst no doubt excellent at maintaining everyday cars can't compete with our lineup of custom tooling, height access scaffolding and even power hungry steam machines, emitting strong jets of steam only a fixed location can provide. Added to this is the fact that we are always undercover so this means not having to watch for the weather.

How long will the car take to be made ready for sale?

The bulk of this question lies in a number of factors - how much effort is required, existing bookings, custom requirements and finally how much paint correction is needed. As each individual client has different needs we will work out an estimate once we have assessed the car.

How do we access our photos?

Using our custom image gallery download portal, customers are invited via email once the photos are ready. They can then log in securely, view their gallery and download all the photos as part of their package. The photos are included in the package and are sized ready for sharing with friends and family as well as any of your chosen social media platforms.

Is there any copyrights applicable to the photos?

Absolutely not - by prior agreement with Barefoot Photographer, all our clients receive the share ready photos in digital form without the need to worry about copyright.

Can you assist with pricing guides when selling?

Absolutely! We have access to a number of large information based web systems that can provide us with pricing indications, RedBook quotations and even competing dealerships which might have a similar make and model. Obviously these are just guides but remember you want to sell your car quick and hassle free so try your best to remove emotion and sell the vehicle for what the market dictates.

Can you assist with selling the vehicle?

Absolutely! If the idea of sitting around waiting on strangers to meet up with you at your home doesn't appeal, or the recent stories of inspections going horribly wrong scares you then talk to us. We can assist using a commission free sales campaign that takes care of all the risks, provides for an impartial professional service inclusive of secure parking, management of all advertising on free and paid platforms and finally negotiating on behalf of the you the owner....forget the Facebook Marketplace tyre kickers and scammers....we can spot them a mile away. Let us sell your car faster and with less fuss.

If you assist selling is there a commission?

Not at all! Our costs come under the definition of a Sales Management Fee and set at between $495 and $795 depending on efforts required. The fees simply cover the efforts our team's efforts to create the necessary listings, manage photographs and sales copy then look after the inquiries, book test drives, qualify leads, negotiate pricing, and manage all the necessary paperwork. Selling can be stressful, so too is the unknown with MarketPlace shenanigans and time wasters...not to mention the scams! Our service is an extension of how we would like any car sale process to work - hassle free and beneficial to all parties. Ask us how we can assist.

Do the sales management fee apply if the car is sold within a few days of listing?

They do indeed :) however depending on the end result and effort required we may entertain a small discount as a goodwill gesture. Ask us for more info.

How long does the sales campaign last?

We allow for a 6 week campaign, unless specially negotiated. Initially we focus on the first 2 weeks at a local level using Facebook Marketplace. This way we can broadcast the fact your car is on the market and to reach out for further info. We focus predominantly on Facebook Marketplace and list in around 17 Tasmanian specific For Sale Groups. We manage the adverts, copy and the usual deluge of "Is This Available" requests. If we get nil traction in the first 2 weeks we can discuss the remaining time allocated to the campaign. In this phase we can discuss altering the listing price or other marketing options such carsales.com.au and Gumtree. Naturally these platforms have a wider reach but come at a cost. Those costs can't be realised until such time as as an advert is actually created on those platforms.

What happens if the car does not sell?

At the end of the 6 week campaign, we sit down with you and discuss the results of our efforts, the reach, the number of leads generated and any feedback provided by potential buyers. We can then offer two options - an extension of our services with ongoing management fees or we hand the keys back and you can take on the effort thus far and continue it yourself. Please note that whilst we will supply all photographs and sales copy you will need to recreate all adverts on all nominated platforms as unfortunately none allow for the transfer of listings to other people. If you take the option of self managing we will provide a discount of 25% off the final management fee to cover off all of our team's efforts.
